Trails the highest closed balance and locks at the starting balance once the account is 6% up; a 1% withdrawal buffer then applies. Same limit once funded.
On funded accounts, profit from a trade executed in the window is deducted but the account is not breached. Take profits on trades opened at least 48 hours before the release are exempt.

The target is 1.5 times the drawdown chosen at checkout (4% to 14%). The help centre's E8 One page lists a 6% target, 3% daily and 4% drawdown as its preset, which matches the 4% option.
The dollar amount is fixed from the initial balance and subtracted from each day's starting balance at 00:00 server time. Same limit on the Performance account.
The Performance-stage ban runs from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a high-impact release and covers opening or closing trades, stop loss and take profit, and stop orders. Profits made in the window may be removed.
The limit is the balance at 00:00 CE(S)T minus 5% of initial capital, and equity (including open losses) must stay above it. The same rule applies on the FTMO Account.
Challenge: allowed. Funded: no trades ±2 min of selected releases
No restriction during the Challenge or Verification. On a Standard FTMO Account, no trades may be opened or closed on affected instruments from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after selected releases. Swing accounts are exempt.
The limit is the balance at 00:00 CE(S)T minus 3% of initial capital, and equity (including open losses) must stay above it. The same rule applies on the FTMO Account.
The floor trails the highest balance recorded at 00:00 CE(S)T and never decreases. It resets to 90% of initial capital when a new FTMO Account is issued after a Reward.
Exceeding it is not a breach; you keep trading until the best day is 50% or less of positive days' profit. It applies to passing and to each Reward on the FTMO Account.
Challenge: allowed. Funded: no trades ±2 min of selected releases
No restriction during the Challenge or Verification. On a Standard FTMO Account, no trades may be opened or closed on affected instruments from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after selected releases.
No single day's closed net profit may exceed 35% of a step's total (50% of profit since the last payout once funded). Missing it does not breach the account; the target or payout waits until it is met.
The help centre sets the reference at the higher of prior-day balance or equity (17:00 EST); the programme page FAQ describes the prior day's closed balance.
Counts closed and floating losses and resets at 00:00 server time; profit made earlier that day adds to the allowance. The same limit applies once funded.

Deliberately trading news spikes is still prohibited at both stages and can close the account. On the Master Account speeches carry a ±10 min window, and trades opened 5+ hours before an event are exempt.

No score; 50% best-day rule above $5,000 funded profit
The challenge page states there is no consistency score on the two-step. Once total funded profit exceeds $5,000, a best day or single trade above 50% of the payout cycle's profit is cut to the 50% mark.
Red-folder events are those on Forex Factory. Positions opened earlier may be held through the release, and the same window applies to funded accounts.
