How we verifyevery value.

The rules are only useful if you can check them. This page sets out where every value comes from, how it is confirmed, how often it is re-checked and what we leave out.

Where values come from

Only the firm's own public pages: its website, pricing pages, help centre or FAQ, and published terms. The firm's own page is the one that binds a trader, so it is the only one we treat as evidence.

We do not use review sites, comparison sites, affiliate pages, forums, social media or video. When a firm publishes rules on a help centre it hosts with a third-party provider, we treat it as first-party if the firm's own website links to it as its official help centre.

How a value is verified

For every value we record four things:

  1. The value, in structured form (for example, a percentage and whether it is static or trailing) and as a short label.
  2. The source: the exact page on the firm's site, linked from every table cell.
  3. A verbatim excerpt from that page, shown on each firm's profile, so you can see the wording the value rests on.
  4. The verification date: the day we last confirmed the value against the live page.

Where a firm's evaluation and funded rules differ, the table value describes the evaluation, because that is the stage a buyer faces first, and the label and note spell out both. Where two of a firm's own pages disagree, we record the more specific page and describe the conflict in the note.

If a firm's own pages do not settle a rule, the cell reads Not yet verified. That means we could not confirm it, not that the rule does not exist. We never fill a gap with an assumption or a figure from memory.

03

How often values are re-checked

Prop firm rules change often, sometimes without announcement. We aim to re-check every value at least every 30 days, and sooner when a firm announces a change. Any value last verified more than 45 days ago is flagged Re-check due automatically wherever it appears, so a stale value is never presented as current.

Scope

  • Firms: major forex and CFD prop firms. Futures firms use a different rule structure and are not yet covered.
  • Programmes: each firm's flagship offering: its standard 2-step and 1-step evaluations and one instant funding account where it sells one. Sub-variants and add-ons are described in notes rather than listed separately.
  • Prices: list prices before promo codes, in the currency the firm lists. We do not convert currencies, and we do not record time-limited discounts.
  • Account sizes: as the firm lists them. We show sizes without a currency symbol because firms denominate accounts differently.

Who publishes this, and what we don't do

Pipster is a prop firm, and that is a conflict of interest you should weigh. We manage it in the open. Our own programmes appear in every table under exactly the same method, including our lifetime payout cap per account and our definition of a qualifying trading day.

  • We do not rank, score or rate firms, and we do not name a “best” firm.
  • No firm pays to be included, to be left out or to have its data changed.
  • Links to firms are plain source citations. None are affiliate links.
  • Firms are listed alphabetically. Pipster is listed where the alphabet puts it.

Every value links to its source, so you never have to take our word for it. Pipster's own profile is held to the same standard as the rest.

Field definitions

What each column in the databases records.

Targets and loss limits

Profit target
Profit required to pass each evaluation phase, as a percentage of the starting balance.
Daily drawdown
The most an account may lose within one trading day before it breaches, and the figure the limit is measured from (balance, equity, or the higher of the two).
Max drawdown
The overall loss limit for the life of the account. A static limit is fixed from the starting balance; a trailing limit follows the account's high-water mark.

Time

Time limit
How long a trader has to complete each evaluation phase.
Min. trading days
The fewest days a trader must trade in each evaluation phase before passing, and how a qualifying day is defined where the firm says.
Inactivity limit
How long an account may go without a trade before the firm can close it.

Trading restrictions

Consistency rule
Whether profit from a single day or trade is capped relative to total profit, during the evaluation, once funded, or both.
News trading
Whether opening, holding or closing trades around high-impact economic releases is restricted, and the size of any restricted window.
Weekend holding
Whether positions may be held through the weekend market close.

Payouts

Profit split
The trader's share of funded-account profit: the standard rate and the highest rate available.
First payout
How long a funded trader waits before the first payout can be requested, and what starts the clock.
Payout frequency
How often payouts can be requested after the first.
Payout cap
Whether the amount a trader can withdraw is capped, per payout or over the life of the account.

Cost

Evaluation fee
List price by account size, before promo codes, in the currency the firm lists. We do not convert currencies.
Fee refund
Whether the evaluation fee is returned to the trader, for example with the first payout.

Corrections

If a value is wrong or out of date, email support@pipster.io with the value and a link to the firm's own page. Firms are welcome to write in about their own rules. We confirm every correction at the source before publishing it and record it in the changelog below.
