Setup

Connect in three steps

  1. 1

    Get a Pipster Match-Trader account

Purchase a challenge or funded account, or enter a free competition. When the account is ready, note its Match-Trader account ID.

  2. 2

Open Match-Trader and generate your Trader API token

From your Pipster Dashboard, open the account from step 1 and select Access → Open Trading Platform. In Match-Trader, open your top-right profile, then API Access → Generate token. Select the account ID, permissions, and expiry, then copy the Trader API token.

  3. 3

    Connect your AI assistant

Open its connector or MCP settings, add the URL below, and use the Trader API token from step 2 to authenticate the connection.

Examples

Three practical prompts

The final example requires position-modification permission.

Market data

“What are the current bid and ask prices for EURUSD?”

get_quotes

Position review

“Give me the updated P&L for each open position and the total.”

list_positions

Trading permission required

“Buy 0.1 lots of EURUSD with a stop loss 100 points below the current bid.”

Rate limits

Shared by the trading account

Global and per-endpoint limits apply at the same time.

280

requests per minute

Account-wide total

Shared across every endpoint and every Trader API token for one trading account.

Per-endpoint caps

These are individual limits, not numbers that add up to 280.

60

per endpoint / minute

Each: quotes; position open, modify and close; pending-order create, modify and cancel

20

per endpoint / minute

Each: account summary, position and pending-order reads, candles, closed positions and ledgers

10

per endpoint / minute

Each: account details, symbols and trading hours

Every request counts against both its endpoint cap and the 280-request account total. Limits use a sliding one-minute window; requests over a limit receive a 429 response.

Keep control

Protect your Trader API token

Each Trader API token is linked to one account and expires after the period you select.

Never paste your Trader API token into a chat, commit it to source control, or expose it in client-side code.

Revoke and replace it immediately if it is exposed or no longer needed.

Every automated action remains subject to Pipster’s rules and account limits.
